A district-level Oratory competition organized by the Institutional Schools Association Nepal (ISAN) Bhaktapur District Committee and coordinated with Bright Star English School was recently completed among the students of ISAN-affiliated schools. The competition, which was organized with the aim of bringing out the inherent talent of the students, was held among the students of classes 6, 7, and 8.
In the official program of the Oratory Competition, the central president of ISAN, Mr. Premjan Thapashreshtha, said that the oratory competition helps develop students’ expressive ability and the ability to speak freely. In that program, ISAN General Secretary Purushottam Gwachha said that listening is a kind of yoga and that listening and speaking are qualities that students must have.
In his speech at the program, the district president of ISAN, Krishna Ram Twanabasu, said that in today’s society, it is necessary to speak for individual rights. So, ISAN has been conducting various programs to bring out the talents of students in education and skill development.
Mr. Krishna Ram Duwal, coordinator of the ISAN Examination Committee, also expressed his opinion on the program which was held under the chairmanship of Bright Star English School Principal Rajendra Suzkhu.
All the contestants presented their best speeches in the program in which 12 different schools of Bhaktapur district participated. In the competition, Pushpa Baruwal, a class 7 student of Future Star English School, came first, Rajshree Kusi, a class 7 student of Khwopring English Academy, came second and Saksham Nepal, a class 7 student of Surya Deep Secondary School, came third. Trophies, medals, and certificates were awarded to all the contestants who performed well including the winning students.
