ISAN, 29 Asar, 2082 || The Institutional Schools’ Association Nepal (ISAN) Bhaktapur District Committee, in collaboration with Vidhya Arjan Secondary School, successfully organized an open district-level poetry writing and recitation competition on the occasion of the 211th Bhanu Jayanti.
The chief guest of the event, ISAN Central Chairman Premjan Thapa, emphasized that poetry should be a creative medium for social transformation. He urged participants to use poetry as a tool to highlight societal issues, eradicate harmful traditions, and expose distortions in society. Thapa also encouraged students to engage in the study of geography, history, literature, and culture to enrich their creative expression.

The competition, chaired by ISAN Bhaktapur District Chairman and Himalayan Glory English Secondary School Principal Mr. Krishna Ram Twanabasu, saw enthusiastic participation. Mr. Twanabasu expressed satisfaction over the increased number of participants compared to last year and advised students to treat every moment as a learning opportunity. He emphasized that those who remain eager to learn from every experience will achieve unstoppable success.
Judges Mr. Jeevanath Adhikari and Mr. Deenanath Pokhrel evaluated the performances of 24 participants from 13 schools across Bhaktapur district.
The winners were:
– First Place: Saksham Nepal (Surya Deep Secondary School)
– Second Place: Prajwal Dahal (Future Star Secondary School)
– Third Place: Ngeema Lama (Bright Star Secondary School)
– Consolation Prize: Minita Tolange (Lisha Secondary School)
Winners received medals, trophies, and certificates, while participating schools were awarded tokens of appreciation. The event was hosted by teacher Suman Tamang, who also delivered the vote of thanks. The competition aimed to promote literary creativity among students and inspire them to use poetry as a means for social change, aligning with the spirit of Bhanu Jayanti.
